Struggling to package your life coaching offer?

You’re not alone. I’ve seen it over and over: great coaches, zero structure.

After running my first virtual summit in 2015, I had coaches flooding my inbox. They wanted help launching events and asked if I could coach them through it.

At first, I didn’t think I was that guy. I was completely locked in on building summits, my email list, and partnerships.

But I made a huge mistake.

Thing was, I had all this attention and no offer to send people to. No life coaching packages. No way to monetize that interest fast.

If I’d had a solid, high-ticket offer back then, I’d have scaled way faster.

That’s why this stuff matters.

A clear life coaching package makes it easy for people to say yes. It gives your business structure. And it gives you leverage.

This guide walks you through how to build yours step by step. You’ll get examples, a template, and a smarter way to start selling your time.

It’s all here, so you don’t miss the kind of opportunities I nearly let slip.

What Are Life Coaching Packages?

Life coaching packages are structured offers you sell to clients usually bundled as multiple sessions with a clear goal, timeframe, and outcomes.

Instead of booking random sessions, your clients know exactly what they’re signing up for and what they’ll walk away with. Think of it as selling results, not time.

Here’s what a coaching package might look like:

  • 3-month mindset reboot with weekly calls and Voxer support.
  • Career clarity accelerator for professionals pivoting careers.
  • Confidence breakthrough weekend with one-on-one intensives and action plans.
  • Accountability coaching for entrepreneurs launching something big.
  • Monthly check-ins + templates for clients who just need a strategy buddy.

Each one is tailored for a specific transformation. No cookie-cutter coaching here.

Why create packages as a coach?

As a life coach, clients look to you for guidance to create positive changes in their lives.

Clients have expectations when choosing a life coach for themselves. One of them is a clear and value-laden coaching package.

Creating coaching packages makes things easy for both you and your clients. Here are some of the ways you’ll benefit from a structured coaching package:

  1. Better for long-term growth: If you have a three-month or six-month package, clients will stay on for longer periods, leading to deeper transformation.
  2. Locks in predictable income: You know exactly how much recurring revenue you’ll be earning.
  3. Boosts revenue: You can receive higher upfront payments to improve cash flow.
  4. Offers better value: Bundled sessions with additional coaching support can attract potential clients. They’ll also appreciate the program as a whole, beyond just single sessions.
  5. Saves time and energy: No need to keep renegotiating. There’s already a structure for your coaching program. Less admin work in handling schedules and payments.
  6. Clear expectations: With a coaching package, you’re already being clear about the inclusions and the terms of your service. Agree with what works best for both you and your client.

What should be included in a life coaching package?

One of the first things your clients will ask about is the coaching packages you offer. A well-defined package clearly communicates your value and makes you stand out.

Make sure your coaching package structure has these elements:

  1. Package name: Come up with a memorable package name that clearly describes your program. For example, you can use “90-Day Dream Life Reset” for a three-month intensive general life transformation course.
  2. Outcomes: Who is the package for and what results will you achieve together? Explain how you’ll get from problem to solution, and other methodologies and frameworks you’ll be using.
  3. Inclusions: List down all the services you’ll be including (e.g., coaching calls, email support, and access to the exclusive community server). You can also note down other bonus perks or resources you’ll provide clients (e.g., templates, checklists, and swipe files).
  4. Pricing model: Compute the value of your services. Consider presenting different package tiers with varying levels of inclusions to give your clients options.
  5. Payment plans: Allow clients to choose from different payment plans (e.g., one-time payment, monthly installments). Give incentives to clients who book early and pay in full (e.g., discounts and early bird rate).

Different types of life coaches (e.g., business coach, mindset coach) offer different life coaching packages.

The clients you’ll attract depend on what you offer. Think about who your ideal clients are and what life coaching services are in your lineup.

What makes the most sense for your coaching business? Picture that as you go through these types of coaching packages:

1. Starter package

Best for: Budget-conscious clients or clients who are new to coaching

Not yet ready to commit time and money to coaching? No problem.

Starter packages are an easy and attractive way to get curious beginners to attend your coaching sessions. These single-session breakthroughs address simple but urgent concerns, build trust, and showcase your genius.

If it still seems too risky to commit, offer a money-back guarantee. Give clients a refund if they’re not satisfied with your first session together. Less risk for them, while showing off your confidence in what you do.

  • Price: $97-$250 (one-time payment)
  • Inclusions: 60-minute deep-dive session, customized PDF action plan, one-week email support

2. Short-term package

Best for: Overwhelmed clients who need structure but are not yet ready for long-term coaching

A short-term package creates a chance for you to support your client for two to four weeks. Score quick wins with them, like reducing stress and discovering productivity hacks.

Like a starter package, you’re not asking them to take a big leap of faith. Just a bit of time, energy, and resources to experience the transformational power of life coaching.

But since this is a slightly longer program, they also get the benefit of working with you a little more. If they like what you can do in a week, they should see the value you can offer with more time.

  • Price: $300-$500 (one-time payment)
  • Inclusions: Weekly check-in calls, daily accountability prompts (via SMS or email), habit-tracking template

3. Flagship mid-tier package

Best for: Committed clients ready for real change (e.g., career shifts, confidence building)

Your flagship mid-tier package is the sweet spot of your coaching packages. You’re offering a high-value, structured program to clients who are serious about change but can’t commit to more premium support just yet.

This package typically spans three months, a proven timeframe for building habits, shifting mindsets, and seeing measurable results.

  • Price: $1,200 – $2,500 (could be paid in installments)
  • Inclusions: Weekly 60-minute one-on-one sessions, 24/7 Voxer support, customized workbook, progress assessments, and bonus community access

4. Intensive weekend retreat package

Best for: Busy clients who crave quick transformation and noticeable results

Give your clients an immersive experience that produces real results. With an intensive weekend retreat, they get a year’s worth of growth in one weekend.

Your program can be a mix of group workshops, one-on-one coaching, and exercises in a curated environment. Help them gain clarity, break through blockages and create an actionable plan.

  • Price: $2,500 – $5,000 (one-time payment)
  • Inclusions: 2-day immersive workshops, pre- and post-event coaching, swag bag (with the event journal and online resource access)

5. High-ticket premium package

Best for: Entrepreneurs, executives, or high-achievers with ambitious goals

A high-ticket coaching package is your most exclusive and intensive program that spans six months to a year. Unlike your other programs, this package includes unlimited access, priority support, and highly tailored resources.

Think VIP treatment. They get your dedicated attention and feedback, so they can achieve impactful results.

  • Price: $5,000 – $15,000 (or monthly payments)
  • Inclusions: Weekly and on-demand sessions, unlimited messaging support, personalized tools and assessments, quarterly half-day intensives, lifetime access

6. Online coaching package

Best for: Busy clients who prefer flexibility or clients located on the other side of the globe

An online coaching package is a popular offer nowadays because it allows clients to learn anytime, anywhere. They can book coaching sessions and access resources and support via digital platforms (e.g., Zoom, email, and online modules).

You can curate everything online and tweak it as needed. It’s a highly flexible and scalable package that makes your coaching services available worldwide.

  • Price: $300-$1,000 (or a monthly subscription)
  • Inclusions: Pre-recorded video modules, one to two live group coaching calls, downloadable worksheets, self-paced online course

How to Create Life Coaching Packages

Infographic showing how to create a life coaching package with this step-by-step guide covering audience, methods, format, inclusions, outcomes, and pricing

Run your coaching practice with the right coaching packages.

When I’m creating a coaching package, I ask myself, “What transformation does this client want and what will it take to actually get them there?”

From there, I map out a few core considerations:

  • Clarity of outcome: What will they be able to do, feel, or achieve by the end of our work together? If the result isn’t clear, the offer won’t land.
  • Level of support needed: Some clients need deep, hands-on guidance. Others need accountability and strategy check-ins. I shape the format (e.g., one-on-one, group, hybrid, calls, Voxer) based on what will serve them best.
  • Timeframe for real change: I don’t build “quick fix” packages. I ask, “How long does this transformation realistically take?” That defines the program duration, whether it’s six weeks, three months, or a full year.
  • My energy and delivery style: I also check in with myself. Can I deliver this consistently and with excellence? If a format drains me, it’s not sustainable and dampens the client experience.
  • Price-to-value alignment: I price based on the transformation and the depth of support. Not by the hour, but by the result.

No matter what, the end goal is the same: A package that’s clear, aligned, and results-focused. Built for both client success and business sustainability.

Ready to build your own coaching packages? Here’s a step-by-step guide to get your coaching package ready:

Step 1: Identify your audience

Know who your coaching package serves by defining your ideal clients. A great life coaching package matches your audience’s needs.

Ask yourself these questions to get a clear picture:

  • What are their goals?
  • What motivates them?
  • How much time and money are they willing to invest?
  • What learning methods do they prefer?

Step 2: Determine your methods

How will you get things done? Elaborate on your coaching style philosophy. Showcase how it’s reflected in your process:

  • Coaching framework: What strategy will you implement to best help your client? Choose from proven models like GROW, NLP, and positive psychology.
  • Coaching techniques: Decide on which approach would best support your client. Consider techniques like active listening, visualization, and reframing.
  • Goal setting and accountability: How will you create a road map to success? Think about setting SMART goals and using accountability tools like habit trackers and weekly check-ins.

You can also check out related life coaching statistics and consider them when deciding on your methodology.

Step 3: Define your session format

How you coach matters just as much as what you coach. Find the right rhythm and format so they stay fired up and hit their goals.

Picture your coaching sessions. Would your clients get more from short but frequent check-ins or deep-dive sessions? Maybe a mix of both?

Consider these formats:

  • Private coaching or one-on-one coaching package
  • Group coaching sessions
  • Weekly coaching sessions
  • 3-month coaching package

A well-defined session format sets the pace of your program. It also clarifies what your clients should expect and how much time and effort they should commit.

Step 4: List down the inclusions

Support comes in different shapes and forms. Your life coaching package should show clients how you plan to support their transformation journey.

Think about these factors when you come up with your package inclusions:

  • Participants: Will clients work only with you or will they be part of a group? Both individual and group coaching programs greatly impact your client’s coaching experience. But choose which setup will best suit their goals.
  • Level of guidance: Will you provide high-touch services only or will you also offer self-paced courses? Some clients would need more guidance while others appreciate having time to learn by themselves.
  • Resources and tools: Identify the learning materials you’d like to offer, like worksheets, recommended readings, and online modules. Think about the whole coaching experience and picture any additional tools your clients would need for support.
  • Support in between sessions: How will clients reach you beyond sessions? Give them limited access to communication channels like email and phone consultations.

Step 5: Describe the outcomes

“What’s in it for me?” Clients want to know what they get out of your coaching sessions.

In my Magic Pill Offer Workshop, my coaches walk away with an irresistible offer to present to their clients. In just 90 minutes, they’ll know exactly what formula to use to create high-impact, high-ticket offers.

No guesswork. Just a proven system for attracting clients and selling with confidence.

When you craft your own coaching package, communicate your value directly. List down the specific results they’ll achieve when they work with you.

Step 6: Price your package

It’s time to put a price tag on your coaching package. Assign a value for all the individual inclusions and then decide on a bundle price.

Check other similar offers in the market to gauge your package price and life coaching fees. Here’s a breakdown of the average life coaching prices:

  • Single sessions: $75-$250 (hourly rate)
  • Monthly package: $500-$1,500
  • Digital courses: $50-$1,000 (self-paced)
  • Retreats: $2,000-$10,000+
  • High-touch package: $5,000-$30,000+

5 Common Mistakes to Avoid When Building Life Coaching Packages

Coaching packages are meant to make things easy. Keep things simple and avoid these common mistakes:

  1. Vague or broad packaging: Don’t say, “I offer life coaching”. Double down on a particular niche to resonate with your audience. The more specific you are with your offers, the easier it is to find your ideal clients.
  2. Pricing based purely on time: The value of your coaching package shouldn’t be limited by the time you spend with clients. There are many ways you can support them beyond your sessions, so that should also be reflected in how much you charge. Think transformation, not time.
  3. No structure: Don’t fall into the trap of open-ended coaching with no end date. Set a defined duration to have clear targets and expectations.
  4. Complicated payment plans: Imagine asking your clients to pay $333.33 a month for 6 months. The string of decimals makes things confusing. When it comes to payments, the simpler, the better.
  5. Too many offers at once: Offering every type of package under the sun confuses potential clients. Start with one to three strong offers. Make it easy for them to say yes.

How to Price High-End Life Coaching Packages

Liam Austin sitting at a table in a light-filled room, helping people to reach their goals through coaching and guidance

The number one mistake of beginner coaches: undercharging, especially with high-end coaching packages.

Think about the value you offer. With your high-ticket package, you’re stacking up services to give clients support that’s fit to their needs. That takes a lot of time and energy, so price accordingly.

Here are some tips you can use any time you’re ready to build your own:

  • Consider your experience: The cost of life coaching packages varies, especially for seasoned coaches. More experience. Higher rates.
  • Research competitors: Look at coaches in your niche with similar offers. Note their pricing, inclusions, and duration. You can price 20%-30% more if you offer more value.
  • Calculate your minimum viable price: Determine the value of the individual components of your package. Given all that you’re offering, what’s the baseline price you can charge?
  • Offer payment plans: A price tag with many zeroes can be intimidating. Make it easy and flexible to cover the overall cost of your package by giving clients payment options.

How to Sell Your Life Coaching Packages

Now that you have a life coaching package, it’s time to sell it with confidence. Get clients as a life coach with these strategies:

  1. Validate your offer: Ask your existing network for their opinion: “Will you commit to this package at this price?” Their insights will give you an idea of how the market will receive your offer.
  2. Share the news: Once your package is ready, announce it on your website and social media accounts. Update any branded assets as needed.
  3. Provide relevant content: A great way to build trust and rapport with your audience is by posting content related to your expertise. Share nuggets of wisdom about the coaching industry and establish yourself as an authority in your life coaching niche.
  4. Get in front of an audience: Build your credibility further by speaking at a workshop or webinar. Inspire others by sharing your genius and watch as leads line up and ask to work with you.
  5. Set up discovery calls: Offer your packages for a free trial or offer a lower rate to test them out. You’ll know which packages work and clients will get a preview of your coaching process.
  6. Post social proof: Once you start getting clients, share their testimonials and success journey for others to see. Highlight what they were able to achieve because of your coaching package.
