  1. There are right and wrong answers with MBTI. You’re not being scored. MBTI will only reflect your personal preferences. 
  2. MBTI is all hocus pocus. No scientific background. It’s been acknowledged by psychometric research for its good test-retest reliability.
  3. The test tells you who you are. No test, not even MBTI can capture the full complexity of being human. It just shows you how you perceive and interact with things.
  4. There’s one best MBTI personality. Whichever of the 16 types you get won’t guarantee success or that you’re a good person. People may like others with a certain personality type, but that’s just for them.
  5. MBTI predicts success. This test doesn’t measure aptitude or any real-world outcomes.
  6. People are strictly one type of MBTI personality. MBTI types are based on preferences and not absolute traits.
  7. MBTI can be used to diagnose mental disorders. The test isn’t meant for any clinical interpretation.
  8. Once you have a type, it never changes. Your MBTI type isn’t meant to change quickly or in the short term, but changes in environment or major life situations can cause shifts. 
  9. Thinkers are cold and feelers are emotional. Don’t fall for these stereotypes. MBTI measures decision-making preferences, not emotional intelligence.
  10. Extroverts are outgoing and introverts are shy. Introversion and extroversion refer to how people use their energy, not their social skills.
