There are so many people using the app that when you post something you’re going to get some level of response from your content -whether it’s likes or comments.
When I started out, I had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t plan to turn my account into a business. I had a friend who was selling diet plans on the platform and I thought, “wow, if he can make money doing this, then I’m sure I can figure out something of my own.”I decided to create my own account helping other entrepreneurs with the lessons I’d learned building my previous businesses over the last 10 years.
After six months, I had reached over 100k in followers and I started getting tons of offers for paid posts. I made a couple thousand in my first month utilizing this model. From then I started growing my account with shout-outs in order to grow it further. A year later my account had grown to over a million.
This was without any serious campaign to drive leads back to my business. I began working as an affiliate for online courses and my traffic took off. I was driving almost 1000 leads for every post I put out.
The next step after that was building out my own email list. For me that I was the tipping point, and I haven’t looked back.
It takes a long time to build your following and once you do, monetizing it can be even trickier. I recommend setting up a landing page and attaching it to a funnel.
The goal is to grab a prospect’s email at the top of the funnel. This gives you permission to continue to stay in touch with content and future offers.
Now you’ve moved them from cold traffic to warm traffic.
There are three parts to what I call a “lead generation post.” The first part is creative – that’s the photo you’ve chosen. Along with the photos you’ve included a CTA that sparks interest.
Lately, I’ve been using this one “how my side business generates 10,000 a month on auto-pilot.” That sparks your curiosity and right below that it says “click link in the bio.”
That’s the first CTA. You place the second CTA in your caption. I try to make these CTA’s stand out by putting arrows, flames, and other eye-catching emojis to attract attention.
On my bio, they see the third CTA!
That’s where they get the most personal information about who I am and what I’m all about. At this point they’ve heard the offer, they like it, and they know that I’m a real person.
I have lots of social proof on the platform so there’s a high likelihood that they’re going to convert onto my list. That’s my three-step process. Use it and start warming up some traffic!
